❤️ CHAPTER 46 * With a heavy heart, but aware of having to make a virtue of necessity, Luca left for Parma on June 25, 2013. * It was a Tuesday, an unusual day to get married, but Fabio and Luana had chosen it for a series of reasons that I won't list. During the trip, Luca called Fabio to get the last details regarding the place where they would meet and to have him repeat clearly what he, as best man, would have to do. Nothing that his friend had repeated to him, half an hour before the ceremony he should have been in the sacristy of the basilica where the service would be held, to agree with the priest and the other witnesses on what to do. On that occasion Fabio reminded Luca that there would be 4 witnesses: two for the groom and two for the bride. * Luca crossed the threshold of the basilica in Parma at 10:30 sharp on that June 25 and within a minute he was directed towards the sacristy. Entering that room, he immediately saw Emilio, Fabio's other witness who greeted him by hugging him and further away the two women who would have flanked Luana at the altar. One of the two he recognized immediately, it was Emilio's wife who he kissed on the cheek, while the other, elegant and beautiful... Luca looked at her face and it seemed like he was dreaming: it looked like her but it couldn't be... or maybe it was and why not? Luca came towards me: that woman was me...
